David Andrew "Davey" Hood will be remembered for his humor and sincerity. One of the funniest, loving, 16 year olds, whose life was cut short by a hit and run driver September 28, 2002. Our son, David Andrew Hood, was murdered by a hit and run driver on September 28, 2002. He died October 2, 2002 without ever waking up. We were not able to say goodbye. This is our tribute to a wonderful son, great friend, and one who will be sadly missed by the world.

We will show pictures of Davey, his friends and others who were important in his life. I hope that you will find an inspiration from his life; and continue to remember him always.

We will try to keep you updated on the progress that the police have made to try and find the person(s) that caused Davey's death.

Update 2007 - We have been notified that there may be a person responsible for Davey's death and they have turned the information over to the Deputy Sheriff's office. They are working to prove this person(s) are indeed the ones responsible for Davey's death. Please pray that this will be the one and we can close this chapter of our grieving. We will never forget all those who helped us. We grieve everyday, but at least we would not have to go through this part, of who was responsible. God Bless.

Friend after friend has commented on how much Davey meant to them. His laughter rang through the halls of school and through the rememberances of his friends. There are a few teachers who wish they could forget his disruptions and antics, but what we have come to know is that there was always a reason. A friend's parents were divorcing, a friend's relative was dying, a friend was contemplating suicide...and all say that Davey did whatever it took to ease their pain, if even at his own expense. What a friend we had that was taken so tragically....
